Frequently Asked Questions

  • No, you don’t need a referral to see a psychologist. However, if you would like to claim a Medicare rebate you’ll need a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP before your first session.

  • If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, the Medicare rebate for a 50+ minute appointment with a clinical psychologist is $149.05. Under this plan, you may be eligible for up to 10 Medicare rebates per calendar year.

    Private health rebates may also be available, depending on your level of cover.

    Please note that you cannot claim Medicare rebates and private health insurance rebates for the same appointment.

    Medicare rebates may also be available under an Eating Disorder Care Plan (EDP) or a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM) for elligible individuals. See your GP to disucss thes options further.

    Note, the Medicare rebate is $149.05 per session under an EDP plan, and is $63.40 per session under a CDM.

  • The current fee for a 50-55 minute appointment is $245.

    Note: The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended fee for a 50-minute psychology consultation is $330. The Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi) recommended fee is $340 for a standard consulation. Fees for this practice are intentionally set below the APS and the AAPi recommended rates.

  • Reduced fee options are avaliable to those experiencing financial stress and those with university student status. Please contact Jade to discuss further.

  • Yes, currently appointments are only offered via telehealth.

  • Jade sees individuals aged 15 and older via telehealth. Jade can offer telehealth psychology sessions to anyone living in Australia.

    Although Jade works with a wide range of mental health challenges, currently she does not see individuals for:

    • Couples or relationship therapy

    • Diagnostic assessments (e.g., ADHD or autism assessments)

    • Work cover or any insurance based treatment

    • Court related matters

    As Jade only offers therapy via telehealth, some mental health problems may be best supported by in person or more intensive services. In these instances, referral options will be provided.

  • You can let Jade know that you need to cancel or reschedule via message or email.

    There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. Any cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may incur the full session fee.
